The elephant’s brain

The elephant’s brain weighs more than 5 kilograms. It has the largest mass compared to the brains of all terrestrial animals and an elephant’s brain is three times larger than a human’s brain.

Elephants can remember more than 30 elephants and also remember other animals that have bonded with them for more than 10 years.

Elephants have an EQ equivalent to chimpanzees. The elephant has a brain like a human brain that has various neurons and synapses.

The hippocampus is part of the expression and memory composition in which elephants can remember so many warning signs that they have survived various dangers.

The cerebellum is part of solving various problems that make the elephant have a smart idea to solve problems in survival in terms of using the trunk to expel various insects, and also do things that are similar to humans such as drawing, coloring, playing music, and others.

We can all be a part of helping elephants. Please try to come and visit Lanta Sanctuary for a once in your life.
