Elephant Endotheliotropic Herpes virus

An elephant virus is found in childhood elephants which is usually found in age between 0-9 years. The symptoms of this disease are swelling in the face, the tongue turning purple, depression, not eating, and bloody diarrhea elephants will get sick and die quickly within 2-3 days.

The Lanta elephant sanctuary keeps looking and following the elephant’s health.

We have a team of great veterinarians who come to check the elephant’s health regularly.

** Contact the veterinarian immediately when the baby elephant has symptoms of depression or fever
** Do not let this disease kill the lives of our friends.

We can all be a part of helping elephants. Please try to come and visit Lanta Sanctuary for a once in your life.

Thank you for your care and your support!
